Nøringen
We invest in children!
Agatunet hosts the Nøringen programme in Ullensvang west. Nøringen is a unique programme run by the municipal culture school for children born between 2012 and 2014, available to all the children in the Hardanger municipalities and in Voss. Its focus is cultural heritage, with traditional folk music and folk dance as important elements. The children learn some local songs, to dance, learn about interesting folk music instruments and experience cultural heritage in their municipality. Each group comprises a maximum of 12 children, and there are two to three teachers per group. Many volunteers are involved in these educational activities.
The teachers for Ullensvang vest are Johanna Mjeldheim, folk music archivist at Hardanger Folk Museum, Guttorm Rogdaberg, former manager of Agatunet and government grant holder, and head of public outreach at Hardanger Folk Museum and Agatunet, Line B. Iversen.
Nøringen is a cooperation between the municipal culture schools in Hardanger and in Voss, the folk groups Hardanger Spelemannslag, Voss Spelemannslag, Kvemmingen spel – og dansarlag, Hardanger and Voss Museum, Ole Bull Akademiet and hardingfela.no, and the programme is coordinated by Rannveig Djønne.
